We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Area Sales Manager to drive revenue growth and lead sales activities within an assigned geographic territory. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, particularly in industrial automation, with a proven ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies that meet or exceed revenue and profitability targets. In this role, you will be responsible for expanding Heitek Automation’s presence within your assigned market by identifying new business opportunities, developing and nurturing customer relationships, promoting our products and services, and driving sales from opportunity through close. The Area Sales Manager will work closely with customers and internal teams to understand business needs, develop solutions, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction while achieving territory sales objectives. Key Responsibilites Sales Strategy Development: Design and execute sales strategies to achieve or exceed sales targets within the assigned region. Team Management: Lead and manage a team of Business Development Managers, Inside Sales and have oversight with Customer Care, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback. Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong executive relationships with key customers, understand their needs, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential customers within the industrial automation sector. Product Knowledge: Possess a deep understanding of the industrial automation, hydraulic, and robotic products and solutions offered by the company and be able to effectively communicate their value to customers. Forecasting and Reporting: Develop accurate quarterly business sales forecasts and reports to provide insights into performance, trends, and areas for improvement. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams such as marketing, engineering, and customer support to ensure alignment and support in achieving sales objectives. Budget Management: Manage the sales budget for the assigned region, allocating resources efficiently to maximize results. Key Competencies & Skills Industry Knowlege: A strong understanding of industrial automation, hydraulic or robotic technologies, products, and solutions is crucial. This knowledge can be gained through formal education, on-the-job training, or industry certifications Sales and Marketing Skills : Courses or certifications in sales and marketing techniques, strategies, and customer relationship management can be valuable Management Leadership Training : Courses or workshops in team management, leadership, and communication skills are important for effectively leading a sales team. Qualifications & Experience 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role(preferably in industrial automation). 2+ years of leadership or team management experience. Bachelor's Degree in relevant field in typically required Business Administration Sales and Marketing Engineering (especially Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial) Automation, Hydraulic, Robotic or Control Systems Certifications: Relevant industry certifications, such as those from organizations like the International Society of Automation (ISA) or specific product certifications, can enhance your qualifications.
