QUALITY ASSURANCE TECHNICIAN – LOUISVILLE, KY • $19.80 hourly rate OVERVIEW: Quality Assurance Technicians perform standardized tests to ensure the product complies with company, customer, and government specifications and requirements. The goal is to support the QA department in ensuring that all quality and Food Safety & Food Quality-related programs and procedures are met. WHAT YOU'LL DO Monitors production lines to ensure the product is within specification and all critical control points and critical quality points are met. If deviation occurs, take corrective action. Check all product codes prior to production, during production, and after any code change. Verify all scales prior to startup with certified weights and record data. Perform sifter tailing inspections daily and elevate findings. Assist in leading a product sensory review twice each shift with production for currently running products. Review daily lab paperwork and report any deviations. Gather and organize daily production paperwork for review. Assist in daily review of packaging activity papers for holds and quality; disposition of product accordingly. Complete all sample requests; prepare first production samples for review. Verify labels for lot code dates and allergens. Learn and troubleshoot lab equipment/instruments. Perform all sanitation, food safety, and food quality inspections prior to startup of each production day. Assist in production when there are quality issues and help lead root cause investigations. Collect and retain samples of daily production and store them for future reference. Verify metal detectors and checkweighers daily. Assist in inspecting line equipment before start‑up and after cleaning/maintenance. Complete appropriate forms and tags. Assist R&D with new production sampling and testing. Log correct and accurate data for all testing done on production runs. Print and pass out quality production paperwork when QA Technician2 is unavailable. Use Microsoft Office and enter data into software such as DeaCom. Maintain and file all records according to company policy. Work with management to ensure accurate information is documented in production and assist with Food Safety and Quality‑related issues. Ensure compliance with company policies on safety, GMPs, and SQF; refer to Standard Operating Procedures for guidelines. Communicate via two‑way radios with production and other quality personnel. Perform other duties as needed and assigned by the QA Supervisor and/or QA Manager. WHAT YOU'LL NEED Ability to make decisions. Ability to work with managerial, clerical, production, and maintenance personnel. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence legibly. Must be able to speak and read English. Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Ability to understand and carry out instructions with little direction. Must have computer skills. Must carry out Good Manufacturing Practices to ensure a safe and clean work environment.
