Sheetfed Press OperatorMittera Arlington is looking for Sheetfed Press Operators! The Sheetfed Press Operator is responsible for operating 40" sheetfed press machines with coaters UV and LED lamps and will play an essential role in the company. This position is a leadership role and will assist in directing the work activities of the press team members to ensure productivity, quality and safety goals are met.Responsibilities:Operates and maintains press and all auxiliary equipment while guiding crew to meet and exceed production standards while maintaining customer quality requirementsReads and understands the job ticket, layout sheet, artwork, and other specifications before beginning assigned jobUnderstands set-up and maintenance procedures for entire pressPrograms correct color standards into CPC to make needed color adjustmentsInterprets color bars, star targets, side guide marks and slur indicators to control print qualityAchieves color OK (match/approval) to proofs under the direction of the Press SupervisorEnsures good housekeeping practices are followed in order to maintain a clean, healthful, and safe work area around the press for employees and customersPulls and labels run samples with tags and marksRecords quantity of good signatures or sheets finished on the back of the job ticketRecords the quantity of ink and paper used on the printed job on the time sheetMonitors pH and conductivity of the fountain solution on an offset printing pressChecks both sides of plates for visible imperfections before mountingInterprets color bars, star targets, side guide marks and slur indicators to control print qualityBalances and maintains ink and water systems for print qualityMaintains color during press run with color OK sheetsChecks press signatures or sheets for marks and abrasions on all sides of productInspects blanket to determine suitability for jobRemoves and preserves plates for storageAssists in wash-up and cleaning proceduresEnsures compliance with all applicable OSHA and EPA federal and state rules, regulations, policies and guidelines and Company safety rulesPerforms routine and preventive maintenance on all assigned equipmentRecords ongoing list of maintenance issues to be addressedDirects crew to specific duties during scheduled maintenancePromotes, enforces and sustains safety while identifying areas of process improvementsTrains and develops other Pressroom personnelAssists Supervisors in documenting and improving procedures and processesAssists Supervisors in providing feedback for employee evaluationsFacilitates teamwork on crews and between shiftsPerforms other duties as assignedRequirements:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
