Politico is seeking an associate producer, podcast video to join our growing audio and video team. The ideal candidate is a strong video editor with a passion for creating compelling video experiences for YouTube and social platforms. The position involves editing and producing filmed podcast episodes into polished, engaging YouTube shows, creating clips for social platforms, collaborating with hosts and reporters, and identifying opportunities to elevate conversations. Who You Are A sharp, news-driven visual storyteller who thrives on speed, clarity and editorial precision Passionate about crafting engaging long-form YouTube shows from podcast recordings Proficient in the rhythms, personalities and power dynamics of Washington politics Comfortable juggling multiple projects while maintaining high visual and editorial standards Curious, observant and quick to spot the moments, reactions and exchanges that make great video Audience-minded, with an instinct for growing loyal YouTube and social audiences Collaborative by nature and proactive about communicating across teams What You’ll Do Edit and produce filmed podcast episodes into polished, engaging YouTube shows, incorporating graphics, b‑roll, archival footage and other visual elements that enhance storytelling Create compelling clips and highlights from podcast episodes for YouTube Shorts, Instagram, TikTok and other social platforms Collaborate closely with podcast hosts, producers and the video team to shape the visual identity and editorial quality of POLITICO’s video podcasts Identify opportunities to elevate conversations through pacing, visual storytelling, graphics and supporting news footage Work with POLITICO reporters and editors covering politics and policy to support video storytelling Pitch creative ideas for expanding the reach and impact of POLITICO podcasts through video Collaborate with teammates on script edits, fact checking and video revisions Coordinate with the audio and video teams to meet production schedules and publishing deadlines What You’ll Need 1‑3 years of experience editing digital video, with experience producing podcast video or multi‑camera interview content preferred Expertise in Adobe Premiere; After Effects and Photoshop competence is a strong plus Experience with multi‑camera editing workflows, syncing footage and delivering broadcast‑quality audio and video Strong understanding of YouTube storytelling, pacing, audience retention and thumbnail/title best practices Familiarity with YouTube Studio, audience analytics and performance metrics is a plus Ability to edit quickly and cleanly for a variety of platforms Comfort shooting in studio, in the field and remotely when required Appetite for D.C. politics and insider knowledge Confidence working with high‑profile newsmakers and talent Strong communication and organizational skills Social media chops and a strong understanding of video best practices across platforms Posting Date : 2026‑07‑08 Title : Associate Video Producer, Podcast Video #J-18808-Ljbffr POLITICO
