Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for an adult to geriatric population in a cardiac stepdown/overflow IMCU setting with a 1:5–6 nurse-to-patient ratio on a 32-bed unit
• Manage continuous IV cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, and Nitroglycerin, as well as diuretics (Bumex, Lasix), anticoagulants (Aggrastat, Argatroban, Heparin), and insulin drips
• Monitor and manage cardiac arrhythmias including stable A-Fib, SVT, and Bradycardia; assist with cardioversion as needed
• Care for patients presenting with CHF, chest pain, renal conditions, pulmonary conditions (COPD, pulmonary edema), PE, DVT, DKA, post cardiac cath, and TR Bands
• Support surgical patients (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, chest tubes, biliary drains) and occasional vascular, ortho, or CVA overflow patients pending transfer to appropriate units
• Document and communicate using Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR; float within the facility within scope of practice as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Georgia RN license or valid Compact RN license required at time of submission
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience; first-time travelers are not eligible for this position
• Prior travel nursing experience required — must be confirmed upon submission
• Demonstrated experience managing continuous IV cardiac medications (as listed above) required — must be confirmed upon submission

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Proficiency with Epic EMR preferred; familiarity with Pyxis and SBAR communication framework
• Basic arrhythmia interpretation knowledge and experience with arrhythmia management
• Experience in a Med/Surg or IMCU overflow environment handling a broad patient population
• Familiarity with post-procedural cardiac care including post cardiac cath and TR Band management
