Job Description

The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, espresso beverages, teas, and other menu items while delivering exceptional guest service. This role maintains a clean, organized, and welcoming caf environment and ensures all food safety and operational standards are met.

What You Will Accomplish

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and specialty beverages according to company recipes and standards
• Greet guests warmly and provide friendly, attentive service
• Take customer orders accurately and process payments through the POS system
• Recommend menu items and upsell products when appropriate
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, dining areas, and equipment
• Restock supplies, ingredients, and merchandise as needed
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Monitor product quality and presentation standards
• Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and other caf equipment
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including cash handling and inventory counts
• Address guest concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary
• Support team members and contribute to a positive work environment

What You Will Bring

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous barista, caf, restaurant, or customer service experience preferred
• Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and espresso equipment is a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Basic math and cash-handling skills
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and early mornings

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift and carry up to 2530 pounds
• Frequent reaching, bending, and repetitive hand movements
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to hot equipment and beverages
