Heavy Equipment Service Advisor

Location: Farmingdale, NY
Compensation: $60,000–$75,000 per year
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM (No weekends)

Day in the Life

Your morning starts on the shop floor—coffee in hand—reviewing the day’s repair list with our veteran Shop Foreman. He walks you through diagnostics on a dozer needing hydraulic work and a loader with intermittent electrical faults. You turn those insights into clear, line-item estimates in QuickBooks, translate mechanic notes into customer-ready language, and pick up the phone to set expectations. By lunch, you’ve updated order statuses, confirmed parts availability, and scheduled pickups. Before the day wraps, invoices are polished, customers are briefed, and the team is aligned for tomorrow—no weekend rushes, just steady, reliable rhythms.

Role Snapshot

• Be the go-to liaison connecting customers with our service technicians.
• Convert the Foreman’s assessments into accurate, detailed service estimates.
• Manage sales orders from drop-off through to customer pickup.
• Turn handwritten shop notes into precise digital invoices using QuickBooks.
• Proactively follow up on job status, timelines, and completion confirmations.

What You Bring

• Hands-on experience as a service writer/advisor in an equipment or automotive dealership environment.
• Solid computer skills with strong QuickBooks proficiency.
• Top-tier communication and the patience to gather exact diagnostic details from the shop.
• Residence within a reasonable daily commute to Farmingdale.

Compensation & Schedule

• $60,000–$75,000 annually
• Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
• No weekends
