Join us as a Fiber Splicer at PrimeTech Communications We are seeking a skilled Fiber Splicer to join our team. The role involves fieldwork in telecommunications, primarily focusing on fiber optic splicing and maintenance. Requirements Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience Experience: Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings Skills and Abilities: Perform duties satisfactorily, with good hand dexterity and organizational skills Language: Proficiency in reading, speaking, and understanding English Licenses and Certifications: Valid Driver’s License, Fiber Splicing Certification Physical Requirements: Sitting, standing, lifting/moving up to 100 lbs, speaking, vision, hearing, color distinction Mental Requirements: Ability to follow procedures in an organized fashion Working Conditions: Field environment Primary Duties and Tasks Arrive on time and be ready for work at the start of each day. Operate company vehicle safely and responsibly. Maintain truck inventory levels. Inspect and test lines and cables, record and analyze results to identify faults. Prepare fiber using hand tools or fiber splicing equipment. Perform OTDR testing on splices and redo if necessary. Seal splices with moisture-proof coverings and place insulation over conductors. Complete all required paperwork promptly. Perform tasks within standard timeframes. Maintain tools and test equipment. Wear company uniform and maintain neat grooming. Report unsafe conditions to supervisors. Attend safety meetings as required. Use job-specific tools such as fiber splicers, OTDR, optical power meters, light wands, and cleavers. Undergo annual performance evaluations. Follow safety rules and regulations per company, customer, and OSHA standards. Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
