Sr. Software Engineer - Platform Engineering

Salary: $176,000 - 191,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors or masters degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• We need 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including recent hands-on work with LLM-based tooling such as agents, MCP servers, coding assistants, or similar.
• We look for direct experience embedding AI tools into real development workflows such as code review, testing, code generation, or documentation, beyond individual end-user use.
• We want strong system design capability and a track record of owning tools or platforms end to end, from design through adoption.
• We need comfort working in ambiguity, as this is a new team without established playbooks and you will help shape them.
• We value experience designing and consuming APIs, webhooks, or other integration- and message-based systems.
• We look for experience building developer tooling, internal platforms, CI/CD systems, or other software primarily used by engineers.
• Experience with Java/JVM and/or Python is a plus, though not required.
• We seek a pragmatic problem-solver with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical challenges.
• We need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead technical discussions with engineers and leaders across multiple teams.

• We will have you design and ship AI-native developer tooling, including context aggregation solutions, MCPs/CLIs, skills, and sub-agents that give AI coding tools reliable access to our codebases, services, and systems.
• We will have you help define and stand up our autonomous development agents and cloud agent solutions.
• We expect you to bring outside patterns and translate emerging AI-assisted development practices into standards that fit our stack, scale, and constraints.
• We will rely on you to contribute to pre-review and triage tooling that resolves mechanical and policy issues before human review, and to help define standards for reviewing AI-generated code.
• We will have you design and implement systems that optimize AI costs across the organization and abstract model selection away from engineers day-to-day workflows.
• We want you to help define and measure developer velocity.
• We need you to scope, design, and ship developer tooling with minimal oversight while partnering with platform, infrastructure, and application teams to land it in production.
• We expect you to write clear specs and documentation and actively exchange feedback with a team and organization that is still shaping its own practices.
