Join Our Mission: Support Children and Strengthen Families as a Family Engagement Coordinator!

Are you passionate about  early learning, strengthening families, and helping children access consistent, high-quality child care ? As a Family Engagement Coordinator with Community-Minded Enterprises (CME) , you’ll support the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) , connecting parents participating in outpatient substance use disorder (SUD) and co-occurring treatment in Spokane County with quality early learning, child care, and out-of-school-time programs.

In this role, you’ll  work directly with families and licensed child care providers to develop child care plans, connect children with quality early learning opportunities, and help families maintain consistent care . You’ll also collaborate with treatment providers and community partners to reduce child care barriers so parents can focus on treatment and recovery while their children have a stable, supportive place to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities

• Work individually with parents to develop and maintain child care plans that meet their family's needs and support their treatment goals.
• Help families identify and access high-quality licensed child care, early learning, and out-of-school-time programs .
• Provide ongoing coaching and support to help families maintain consistent child care arrangements .
• Recruit and build relationships with licensed child care providers to expand child care options available through CCAP.
• Recruit and engage qualifying families and help them understand and access CCAP and other early learning resources .
• Facilitate Play and Learn groups that support children and strengthen family engagement.
• Facilitate Parent Trust peer support groups and connect families with community resources.
• Collaborate closely with CME's Early Learning and Family Services teams to connect families with appropriate programs, resources, and supports.
• Partner with Behavioral Health and Recovery Services, treatment agencies, and community organizations to coordinate services around the needs of children and families.
• Maintain accurate program documentation and data, including attendance, intake forms, surveys, participant feedback, and Reliatrax records.
• Compile required monthly and annual reports and support completion of program and contract deliverables .
• Support responsible use of CCAP funding to maximize available resources for participating children and families.
• Participate in occasional evening and weekend activities based on program needs.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Social Services, Early Learning, or a related field preferred. Relevant education and experience in family support, early learning, or related services will also be considered.
• 2–5 years of experience preferred in case management, family support, service coordination, administration of services, customer service, or a related field.
• Experience working with individuals or families impacted by substance use and recovery preferred.

• Knowledge of early childhood development, licensed child care and early learning programs, and community resources available to children and families.
• Ability to build strong, respectful relationships with parents, children, child care providers, treatment partners, and community organizations .
• Experience facilitating Play and Learn, parent engagement, peer-support, or other family-focused groups .
• Knowledge and understanding of the recovery process and the needs of families impacted by substance use.
• Strong organization, documentation, data collection, and reporting skills.
• Ability to work respectfully and effectively with diverse cultures, backgrounds, experiences, and family structures.
  

Certificates and Licenses

• Current valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation with required liability insurance.
• CCAR Recovery Coach Certificate preferred.
• Ability to pass ongoing background checks.

Language Ability

• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with parents, child care providers, treatment partners, community organizations, and coworkers .
• Ability to listen effectively, respond to questions, facilitate groups, and communicate information to individuals with different needs and experiences.
• Ability to prepare clear and accurate reports, correspondence, documentation, and program records .
• Ability to read and interpret program requirements, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  

Computer Skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook .
• Ability to accurately enter, maintain, and report program data using Reliatrax and other database systems .
• Ability to use online tools and resources to conduct research and support families.
