Senior Acquisitions Associate Multifamily

Our client is seeking a Senior Acquisitions Associate to focus on sourcing, underwriting, and executing multifamily investment opportunities, including both existing assets and ground-up development deals. This role is highly outward-facing and requires consistent interaction with the brokerage community to generate and evaluate deal flow.

Overview What This Role Requires

This is not a desk-only underwriting role. The successful candidate will spend time in the market building relationships, identifying opportunities, and staying close to deal flow, while also maintaining the technical capability to evaluate and execute transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate multifamily acquisition opportunities through broker relationships, off-market channels, and direct outreach
• Build and maintain relationships with brokers, owners, and industry contacts to drive consistent deal flow
• Underwrite potential acquisitions including stabilized assets, value-add opportunities, and ground-up development
• Develop and maintain detailed financial models, including cash flow projections, return metrics (IRR, equity multiple), and sensitivity analyses
• Analyze market fundamentals, rent comps, sales comps, and submarket trends to support investment decisions
• Prepare investment summaries and present findings to senior leadership
• Assist in structuring transactions including pricing, debt assumptions, and partnership considerations
• Support due diligence efforts including review of financials, leases, third-party reports, and legal documentation
• Attend industry events, broker meetings, and property tours to stay active in the market and identify opportunities

Qualifications

• 36+ years of experience in multifamily acquisitions, investment sales, development, or related real estate investment roles
• Strong understanding of multifamily underwriting, including cap rates, yield metrics, and development modeling
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
• Experience evaluating both existing cash-flowing assets and ground-up development opportunities
• Ability to independently manage underwriting and move deals from initial review through execution
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and maintain a visible presence in the brokerage community
• Self-starter with the ability to generate opportunities, not just respond to inbound deals

• Detail-oriented with the ability to balance underwriting rigor and deal velocity

Compensation: Base on experience but will be a combination of base salary, annual performance bonus and MIP (management incentive program). The MIP will be a combination of participation in acquisition fees and piece of the deal. The level of which will determined based on the level of involvement in each deal.
