Shift Type: Nights, 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM; every other weekend (Friday and Saturday for night shift)

Hours per Week: 36

Requirements

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-acuity nursing care to medical ICU, PCU, and med-surg patients in a 10-bed multi-care unit
• Titrate critical drips such as sedation, vasopressors, and insulin while closely monitoring patient responses
• Interpret 12-lead EKGs and cardiac rhythms, responding quickly to changes in patient status
• Collaborate with charge nurses, respiratory therapists, and monitor techs to deliver seamless, patient-centered care
• Float to affiliated units (EC MST, Pediatrics, or West Campus ICU/PCU) as needed to maintain competency and support the team
• Document care accurately in Cerner and communicate effectively with the healthcare team

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Arizona or compact state
• At least 2 years of recent ICU experience (or 1 year ICU plus 1 year PCU/Med-Surg in a larger facility with strong skills)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Ability to pass dysrhythmia exam with 80% or higher within two attempts
• Experience titrating sedation, vasopressors, and insulin drips
• Telemetry monitoring and 12-lead EKG interpretation skills
• Cerner charting experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of ICU and PCU patient care, including ventilators, BiPAP, and CPAP
• Proficiency in titrating sedation, vasopressors, and insulin infusions
• Telemetry monitoring and 12-lead EKG interpretation
• Comfort with Cerner electronic health records
• Ability to respond quickly in high-acuity situations
• Team collaboration across multi-disciplinary units
