Registered Nurse - Neonatal ICU

Location: Houston, TX

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM

Job Description: The Neonatal ICU Registered Nurse is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to critically ill newborns. This position requires acute clinical judgment, effective communication with the healthcare team, and the ability to handle high-stress situations while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care, including assessments, treatments, and patient education.
• Manage complex patient needs in a Level 3 and Level 2 Neonatal ICU environment.
• Perform procedures such as IV starts and PICC insertions (as a trained clinician).
• Monitor patient status and administer medications in compliance with protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and implement patient care plans.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Valid RN licensure.
• NRP certification is required; STABLE certification is preferred.
• Experience with equipment such as isolettes, OMNI beds, and phototherapy devices.
• Familiarity with EMR systems, specifically Meditech and CPN.
