Sr Scientist, Biomaterials R&D

Senior Scientist position in biomaterials research and development for medical device innovation within orthopaedics. Responsibilities include designing and testing biomaterials technologies, developing test methods, supporting regulatory submissions, and collaborating across cross-functional teams at DePuy Synthes locations in Indiana or Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

• Serve as subject matter expert in biomaterials science and chemical testing methods
• Independently develop and execute testing protocols using laboratory instruments
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams on product development, regulatory submissions, and commercialization
• Design and conduct scientific experiments, analyze data, and prepare technical reports
• Support design verification, validation, and compliance activities throughout product lifecycle

Requirements

• Minimum six years developing or testing biomaterials-based medical devices
• Master's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or Biomedical Engineering
• Experience with medical device regulations, GMP, and quality systems
• Proficiency in laboratory testing protocols and statistical methods
• Technical expertise in materials science and chemistry
