Associate Attorney

TonaLaw is seeking a motivated and growth-oriented Junior Associate Attorney to join our team. This role is ideal for an attorney with at least two years of experience who is eager to develop litigation skills, gain courtroom experience, and grow within a fast-paced firm. You will work directly under two senior attorneys and be actively involved in all phases of personal injury cases from pre-suit through litigation, as well as no-fault collection cases from case assignment through arbitration/trial. Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary (based on experience) Health insurance 401(k) with employer contribution Paid time off and firm holidays Hybrid work flexibility after onboarding Responsibilities Litigation & Case Handling Assist in managing a caseload of personal injury matters from intake through resolution Arbitration hearing preparation and appearance Draft, review pleadings, motions, discovery demands/responses, and legal correspondence Filing and conducting master arbitrations, trial de novos, and appeals Conduct legal research and case analysis Court & Depositions Appear in court and virtually for arbitrations, conferences, motions, and routine appearances Conduct and defend depositions of all party and non-party witnesses Assist in trial preparation Managing your calendar and caseload calendar with your team Case Strategy & Development Work closely with senior attorneys and operations managers on case strategy and evaluation Review medical records, liability facts, and damages Support negotiation and settlement effortsFee scheduling Client Interaction Communicate with clients regarding case status and next steps Help guide clients through the litigation process Qualifications JD from an accredited law school is required Must be admitted to practice in New York At least 2 years of legal experience (Personal Injury and/or No-Fault Collections experience a plus, but not required) Strong writing and analytical skills Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Willing and eager to appear in court regularly Highly organized with strong attention to detail Motivated to learn personal injury litigation and grow professionally Compensation
