Senior Associate - Treasury Accounting

We are seeking a highly motivated accountant to join the Controllers Group as a Senior Accounting Associate with a focus on accounting, reporting, and analytics as well as participation in special projects. You will be a self-starter responsible for managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast paced, time sensitive environment. The Controllers Group supports the financial implementation of new products, services, and systems with countless opportunities for knowledge growth. This role will have the opportunity to engage with groups across the organization as part of variance analysis, financial statement risk identification, and issue resolution. Prepare and review accounting-related activities, such as journal entries and reconciliations, and support and prepare external SEC and regulatory reports, including documentation and presentation of results to management and senior leadership Ensure accounting and reporting practices and documentation are performed in accordance with corporate policies and procedures Perform periodic analysis and reporting of financial performance for stakeholders and management within necessary deadlines Respond to requests from other departments and perform research Participate in key corporate Treasury projects such as technology and data transformation, process improvement, and business initiatives Collaborate with internal and external partners to resolve issues and stay connected on process or product changes Provide ad hoc analysis to management Provide support for audit, risk and compliance groups when necessary Basic Qualifications: Bachelors’ degree or military experience At least 1 year of experience in accounting, or external financial reporting, or audit, or finance, or a combination At least 1 year of experience with Google Office or Microsoft Office products, or a combination Preferred Qualifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license 2+ years of experience in accounting, external financial reporting, audit, or finance, or a combination 1+ year of experience in QuickSights, or Python, or SQL, or a combination 1+ year of experience in banking, or in reconciliation, or a combination At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked. McLean, VA: $96,500 - $110,100 for Sr. Associate, Accounting Richmond, VA: $87,700 - $100,100 for Sr. Associate, Accounting Wilmington, DE: $87,700 - $100,100 for Sr. Associate, Accounting Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
