The company supplies semiconductors, integrated circuits, passive components, electromechanical products, and other electronic components. Quality, documentation, traceability, and repeatable inspection processes are important parts of its supply-chain operations.Position SummaryAbacus Technologies is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and hands-on Quality Control Inspector to inspect incoming and outgoing electronic components and help ensure products meet quality, documentation, and customer requirements.This position requires someone who is comfortable working with very small electronic components, using inspection tools such as microscopes and measuring devices, and spending significant time working on a computer.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform detailed visual inspections of incoming and outgoing electronic components.Inspect small components using a microscope, magnifying equipment, lighting, and other inspection toolsCheck components for physical damage, contamination, bent leads/pins, scratches, corrosion, improper markings, packaging issues, or other visible defects.Verify part numbers, manufacturer information, quantities, date/lot codes, labels, packaging, and supporting documentationCompare the physical product against purchase orders, packing lists, specifications, manufacturer information, and internal records.Use online resources and manufacturer information to research and verify electronic components when required.Take clear photographs of components, labels, packaging, and potential defects for documentation.Accurately enter inspection results and other information into company computer systems.Maintain organized electronic and physical QC records.Identify and clearly document products that do not meet requirements.Separate or quarantine questionable or nonconforming products according to company procedures.Communicate inspection concerns clearly to the appropriate department before products are released.Assist with incoming receiving and outgoing shipment verification when needed.Maintain an organized, clean, and safe QC workstation.Handle sensitive electronic components carefully to prevent damage.Follow ESD and other component-handling procedures after training.Follow established QC procedures consistently rather than making assumptions when a product or specification is unclear.Meet daily inspection expectations while maintaining accuracy and quality.Participate in process-improvement efforts to reduce errors and improve inspection efficiency.Computer and Online SkillsThis should be an important part of the position.The Quality Control Inspector must be comfortable using computers throughout the workday and should be able to:Search part numbers and manufacturer information online.Navigate manufacturer and supplier websites.Compare online specifications with the physical product.Enter inspection information accurately into internal systems.Work with spreadsheets, email, PDFs, digital photographs, and electronic records.Upload, organize, and retrieve inspection documentation.Learn company inventory, QC, and shipping software.Perform basic online research when information about a component needs to be verified.Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software are required.Hands-On Inspection SkillsThe candidate should be comfortable using or learning:Microscopes and magnification equipmentCalipers and other basic measuring toolsSmall hand toolsPrecision inspection toolsDigital cameras or inspection imaging equipmentProper lighting and visual inspection equipmentESD-safe handling equipmentBasic packaging and labeling equipmentExperience inspecting electronics, semiconductors, medical devices, aerospace parts, precision-machined parts, circuit boards, small mechanical components, or other small technical products would be highly relevant.Required QualificationsMinimum 2 years of Quality Control, Quality Inspection, manufacturing inspection, electronics inspection, or comparable precision-inspection experience preferredStrong attention to detail.Good computer and online research skills.Comfortable performing repetitive, detailed inspection work.Ability to work with very small components for extended periods.Ability to read and accurately compare part numbers, labels, specifications, and documentation.Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.Ability to follow written procedures and inspection standards.Good verbal and written communication skills.Ability to identify a problem and stop the process when something does not look correct.Dependable and able to meet deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with other departments.Preferred ExperienceExperience in one or more of the following would be particularly valuable:Electronic components | Semiconductors | PCB/electronics manufacturing
