Electronic Technician

Location: Plainview, NY
Pay: $24/hour
Work Arrangement: Onsite

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electronic Technician to join our team in Plainview, NY. This role is responsible for inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and documenting electronic products and field returns. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of electronics principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to follow detailed technical instructions while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect and test electronic products using verbal and written instructions, diagrams, drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.

• Test and troubleshoot new electronic products to verify functionality, quality, and performance.

• Diagnose issues with field-returned units and accurately document findings.

• Complete RMA teardown reports for returned products, including detailed documentation of defects and test results.

• Perform Environmental Stress Screening (ESS), including testing with vibration and thermal chambers.

• Record required product data accurately and maintain complete data packages for each job.

• Scan and complete travelers and other required production documentation with a high level of accuracy.

• Identify and document product defects and collaborate with team members to resolve issues and improve product reliability.

• Prepare tested field units for efficient return to service.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of electronic principles, systems, and design.

• Strong electronic troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

• Experience using electronic testing equipment and tools.

• Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, diagrams, drawings, schematics, and specifications.

• Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in testing and documentation.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Ability to follow complex technical directions and established procedures.

• Strong organizational and data management skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to read and comprehend technical instructions in English to ensure quality and accuracy.

Education and Certification

• Associate's degree in Electronics or a related field required.

• Bachelor's degree preferred.

• Electronic Technician certification or comparable certification/licensure required.

Additional Requirements

• Must meet U.S. person requirements as defined under ITAR (22 CFR Section 120.15), including U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency, due to access to export-controlled technology.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.

• Ability to distinguish different wire colors and identify electronic system sections and wiring.

• Ability to safely perform hands-on testing and inspection of electronic equipment.g.

Pay Details: $24.00 per hour
