Job Description
Build Technology That Opens Doors Around the World!
\n \nSenior Software Engineer | Tempe, Arizona
\n \nYour next engineering challenge could help expand access to education for hundreds of thousands of learners.
\n \nOur client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer who loves solving complex problems, taking ownership, and turning ambitious ideas into products people can use.
\n \nBring your expertise in Node.js, Ruby on Rails, and AI-driven development workflows to a mission-driven team combining startup energy with the resources of an established university.
\n \nWhy this opportunity stands out
\n- \n
- Build with purpose. Develop platforms that support global education and create opportunities for learners. \n
- Own meaningful work. Guide solutions from concept through architecture, development, deployment, and ongoing improvement. \n
- Influence technical direction. Help shape architecture, infrastructure, tooling, and engineering practices. \n
- Put AI into practice. Apply AI development tools and emerging technologies to improve how software gets built. \n
- Multiply your impact. Mentor engineers and collaborate with product teams and stakeholders. \n
What you’ll do
\nCreate resilient, secure, scalable software; build new features; improve existing systems; and strengthen automated testing and CI/CD pipelines. You’ll also help maintain AWS infrastructure and translate broad business needs into clear, manageable technical solutions.
\nThis role offers substantial ownership for someone who can work independently, ask thoughtful questions, and keep projects moving while bringing others along.
\n \nWhat you’ll bring
\n- \n
- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and Ruby on Rails. \n
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools and workflows. \n
- Strong software architecture skills and ownership across the development lifecycle. \n
- The ability to independently deploy and maintain infrastructure on AWS. \n
- Experience with Agile development, automated testing, and CI/CD. \n
- Clear communication, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach. \n
Experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, Vue.js, Nuxt.js, or building products from the ground up is also valuable.
\n \nQualifications: Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
\n \nThis is a 6-month contract to hire role!
\n \nReady to build something with lasting impact? Apply today and help shape the technology behind more accessible global education.
