Quality Manager | Heavy Industrial ManufacturingMy client is seeking a hands-on Quality Manager to build and lead the quality function within a growing heavy industrial manufacturing environment.This is not a maintain what already exists role. This is a true stand-up opportunity for someone who wants ownership, influence, and the ability to shape quality systems from the ground up.The successful candidate will oversee quality from incoming material inspection through final testing and customer documentation while partnering closely with Engineering, Operations, and leadership.This position is ideal for someone who combines technical precision with the ability to work cross-functionally in a production-driven environment.Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Systems & DocumentationDevelop and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and inspection plansManage document control and revision trackingLead NCR, CAPA, and root cause investigation processesMaintain calibration and quality record systemsOversee welding qualification documentation and inspection recordsInspection & VerificationConduct and oversee in-process and final inspectionsCoordinate and document load testing activitiesReview NDT/NDE results and supporting certificationsVerify incoming material conformance and traceabilityMaintain detailed inspection and audit recordsCross-Functional LeadershipPartner with Engineering on design quality and manufacturabilityWork closely with Production to improve quality execution and reduce reworkPresent quality metrics and trends to leadershipInterface with customers, inspectors, and auditors as neededCompliance & Continuous ImprovementSupport compliance with applicable industrial and welding standardsMaintain audit readinessDrive process improvements and corrective actionsTrack and report KPIs including scrap, rework, NCR closure, and first-pass yieldQualifications5+ years of quality experience within heavy industrial manufacturing, fabrication, welding, structural steel, heavy equipment, or similar environmentsExperience developing quality procedures, inspection plans, and documentation systemsStrong understanding of welding inspection, blueprint reading, GD&T, and dimensional inspectionExperience with NCR/CAPA processesStrong technical writing and analytical skillsComfortable balancing shop floor activity with administrative responsibilitiesPreferredAWS CWI certificationISO 9001 experienceASQ certificationsNDT/NDE experienceLean / Six Sigma exposureOverhead crane, lifting equipment, or material handling industry experienceWhat My Client Is Looking ForDetail-oriented professionals who catch what others missIndividuals who lead with process, consistency, and documentationSomeone willing to push back professionally when quality or safety is at riskA calm, credible leader who earns trust through accuracy and follow-throughThis is a highly visible opportunity with long-term growth potential inside a company investing heavily in its engineering and operational infrastructureExperience in welding (specifically MIG / FLUXCORE / TIG), fitting, electrical work, and blueprint & schematic work is requiredYou should be proficient in:Quality Inspection ExperienceElectrical SchematicsElectrical Troubleshooting SkillsTroubleshooting Skills5 Why (Root Cause Analysis Method)Mechanical Troubleshooting SkillsFishbone Diagram (Ishikawa Diagram)Electrical Systems Diagnostics & RepairElectrical TroubleshootingElectrical RepairQuality Control ExperienceElectrical / Electronic SystemsMaintenance and Repair SkillsCrane OperationElectrical Systems & Diagnostics (Heavy Equipment)Crane & Lifting Equipment SystemsElectrical Schematic ReadingQuality Control Data AnalysisBasic Computer SkillsMachines & technologies you'll use:MIG WelderTIG WelderCrane (Liebherr, Konecranes, Tadano, Terex, Manitowoc, Demag, SANY)Flux-Cored Arc WelderOverhead Crane #J-18808-Ljbffr
