Desktop Support Technician

Description

The Desktop Support Technician provides frontline technical support for clinical and administrative staff in a hospital environment. This role ensures reliable operation of end-user devices, clinical applications, and network connectivity to support patient care and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Provide on-site and remote support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals

Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and application issues in a timely, high-impact healthcare setting

Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and security updates

Support clinical systems (e.g., EHR access, badge readers, medical device interfaces) as needed

Manage tickets and document resolutions in accordance with SLAs and compliance standards

Coordinate with infrastructure, security, and application teams for escalations

Maintain asset inventory and perform equipment deployment, moves, adds, and changes

Follow HIPAA and hospital security protocols to protect patient data

Qualifications

2+ years of desktop or IT support experience (healthcare preferred)

Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and basic networking

Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools

Familiarity with EHR systems and clinical environments is a plus

This is a Contract position based out of Elkins, WV.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
