Personal Injury Case Manager / Legal Assistant

Location: Houston, Texas (Galleria area) Employment type: Full-time About Callender Bowlin Callender Bowlin (CB Trial) is a trial firm with offices in Houston, Denver and Albuquerque. Our personal injury docket is growing, and we are adding a case manager to the Houston team. We are a small firm, and we work like one. You will work directly with the attorneys on your cases, know the clients by name, and see how your work affects the outcome. The team is close, works hard, and enjoys working together. The role You will keep personal injury cases moving from intake through resolution. Our cases involve trucking accidents, premises liability, work injuries and other serious injury claims. You will be the client’s regular point of contact and the person who makes sure nothing stalls between the attorney’s desk and the file. What you will do Manage a caseload of personal injury matters and keep each one moving on schedule Communicate regularly with clients, returning calls promptly and keeping them informed about where their case stands Coordinate clients’ medical treatment and track providers, appointments and progress Request medical and billing records through our third-party records vendor, and follow up until they arrive complete Track medical expenses and balances for each client Support attorneys and paralegals with case files, correspondence, deadlines and documents Keep case information accurate and current in our case management system What you bring Personal injury experience is required, ideally at a plaintiff’s firm Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage many files at once without losing track of details Clear, patient communication with clients, many of whom are dealing with a serious injury for the first time The ability to take ownership of a file and work through it without constant direction A good attitude and a real interest in being part of a team Details In-office in the Galleria area of Houston.
