Staff Accountant Opportunity
Location: Charlotte, NC
Compensation: $65,000-70,000/yr.
Schedule: 100% Onsite Monday - Friday
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily accounting operations, including general ledger activities, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals.
- Prepare financial reports, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules while ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Manage the sales and installation commission process, including reviewing calculations, reconciling reports, resolving discrepancies, and verifying payments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to research and resolve accounting discrepancies and commission-related questions.
- Utilize accounting and business systems to research transactions, generate reports, validate data, and troubleshoot system issues.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and automation.
- Support audit and tax requests, maintain accurate financial records, and assist with internal controls and accounting procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- 2+ years of accounting experience; Staff Accountant or similar experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles, financial reporting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Experience with accounting, payroll, ERP, CRM, or reporting systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience with work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, percentage-of-completion accounting, or AIA billing preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently while collaborating across departments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with commission calculations or sales compensation strongly preferred.
- Experience with Paylocity, Zoho, or similar business systems is a plus.
