Senior Security Automation Engineer

Pay rate: $70 - $75/hr on W2

• Lead complex and strategically important Professional Services engagements, taking ownership from initial discovery and scoping through solution design, implementation, deployment, and optimization.
• Serve as a senior technical advisor to customers, helping them define automation strategies and identify opportunities to transform complex or high-impact workflows.
• Analyze complex customer environments, processes, tools, and technical requirements to determine appropriate automation approaches and identify potential risks, dependencies, and blockers.
• Design and develop sophisticated Automation Stories in customer tenants, integrating multiple systems and tools through APIs and other available interfaces.
• Tackle highly complex or ambiguous Story builds that require significant technical investigation, problem-solving, and judgment.
• Develop scalable and maintainable automation solutions that meet customer requirements while considering security, reliability, usability, and long-term maintainability.
• Lead technical discovery sessions and customer workshops, effectively communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrate solution concepts and prototypes to customers, using live wireframing and iterative development to refine requirements and validate approaches.
• Partner with Project Managers and Engagement Managers to shape project plans, identify technical dependencies and risks, and ensure delivery remains aligned with customer outcomes.
• Provide technical guidance throughout customer testing and deployment, ensuring solutions are production-ready and successfully adopted by customer teams.
• Review existing customer Stories and automation architectures, identifying opportunities to improve performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Act as a trusted automation advisor and, where appropriate, a resident automation engineer within customer teams, helping customers mature their automation capabilities and achieve longer-term automation goals.
• Develop and share Professional Services technical standards, methodologies, reusable approaches, and best practices that improve the consistency and scalability of our delivery.
• Identify recurring customer challenges and partner with Product, Design, and Engineering to communicate insights that can inform product improvements and future capabilities.
• Partner with Sales and Customer Success teams on complex opportunities, providing technical expertise, solution guidance, and customer-facing support during the sales and expansion process.
• Mentor and support other Engineers, sharing technical expertise, delivery approaches, and customer management practices.
• What you bring with you:
• 8+ years of experience delivering Professional Services, consulting, technical implementation, or similar customer-facing technical solutions, including significant experience implementing SOAR platforms or other automation solutions.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex technical implementations with significant customer impact.
• Strong customer-facing and consulting skills, with the ability to establish credibility and influence technical and business stakeholders.
• Deep expertise in the platform or demonstrated ability to quickly develop deep expertise in complex automation platforms.
• Strong ability to understand complex customer environments, workflows, and business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Extensive experience interpreting and applying API documentation and integrating a broad range of security, IT, and business applications.
• Strong experience with API authentication methods, including OAuth2 and JWT.
• Advanced experience using, troubleshooting, and optimizing APIs and integrations across a variety of tools and platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot complex technical issues and develop solutions where requirements or technical paths may be ambiguous.
• Strong understanding of automation architecture, including considerations for scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to influence customers and internal stakeholders and serve as a trusted technical advisor.
• Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other engineers or consultants.
• Experience contributing to or establishing technical standards, processes, methodologies, or best practices.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to understand how technical solutions connect to customer value and business outcomes.
• Passion for supporting customers and helping organizations eliminate repetitive and manual workflows through secure, scalable automation.
