Job Opportunity – Perioperative Registered Nurse (OR/Surgery) – Pennsylvania

Start Date: September 2026

Location: Pennsylvania

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants (local rate differential may apply)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM. Weekend on-call requirements: 2 weekend nights per 6-week schedule (8 or 12 hours depending on staffing). Holiday requirements: 1 summer and 1 winter holiday on-call plus 1 summer and 1 winter holiday worked (8 or 12 hours depending on staffing). Patient ratio: 1:1. Daily volume: approximately 30 patients across 14 operating rooms.

Highlights:

• Level I Trauma Center experience with complex surgical specialties including liver, kidney, orthopedic, neurosurgical, vascular, and general surgery procedures
• Both scrub and circulating experience required; float assignments may include GI unit or additional surgery center
• EMR: Cerner charting system
• 13-week assignment with 40-hour orientation period
• Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, radiology, and social services
• Exposure to high-acuity cases including trauma (gunshot/stab wounds, MVA), total joint replacements, spinal fusions, craniotomies, and vascular procedures

Requirements:

• Active RN license: Pennsylvania license or valid Compact State license required at time of submission
• BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) required
• BLS certification current and valid
• Minimum 3 years of recent OR nursing experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience: 2–3 years required
• Liver and kidney transplant or surgical experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers cannot be considered)
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR system
• Skills in scrubbing and circulating for orthopedic, neurosurgical, vascular, and general surgery cases
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Pennsylvania state fingerprinting and childline clearance required
• Compliance with credentialing requirements including lab completion within 48 hours of offer acceptance
