Respiratory Therapist

This position involves working in a dynamic environment, providing care and support to patients in critical care settings. The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for delivering high-quality respiratory therapy services in accordance with established protocols.

Shift Information

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Shift Type: Days
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Expected to work most holidays

Responsibilities

The Respiratory Therapist will perform a variety of duties, including but not limited to:

• Administering breathing treatments and assessing patients' respiratory needs.
• Conducting arterial blood gas tests, EKGs, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Delivering non-invasive ventilation and high-flow nasal cannula therapy.
• Implementing and following respiratory therapy-driven protocols as mandated.
• Working collaboratively with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive care.
• Floating to various patient care areas, excluding the NICU.
• Participating in patient education and support initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in respiratory therapy, specifically in critical care.
• Travel experience is required.
• Certifications: Must possess ACLS, BLS, NRP, and PALS. RRT is required; CRT will not be accepted.
• Experience with respiratory therapy-driven protocols is preferred.

• Unit: Respiratory Therapy
• Bed Count: 267 (covers ICU and all medical-surgical/telemetry areas)
• EMR System: Cerner
• RT Coverage: 24/7 availability
• Pharmacy Availability: 24/7 support
• Common Patient Diagnoses: COPD, Asthma, Pneumonia, Congestive Heart Failure
• Common Equipment: Vents including Hamilton, G5, C1, MR1, and Galileo's

Orientation

A floor-specific orientation lasting 2 days will be provided to ensure the successful integration into the team and protocols.
