Pay: $50-$60/hour

\n

Schedule: Flexible 40-hour work week with occasional evening and overnight release support. This is not a standard 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM role. Release activities may require participation during scheduled maintenance windows, typically 1-2 times per week on a rotating basis.

\n

Duration: Long term rolling contract – W2 or 1099. Multi-year initiative with projects expected to continue for at least 3 years.

About the Role

\n

Our client is seeking a Release Manager to support a rapidly growing AI and digital platform organization responsible for delivering customer-facing capabilities at scale. The team is expanding from managing a small number of production releases to supporting dozens of customer service needs and platform enhancements, creating a significantly more complex release environment.

\n

\n

This is a highly visible role responsible for coordinating, organizing, and driving production releases across multiple technology teams. The Release Manager serves as the central point of coordination between Technical Program Managers, Engineering, QA, Platform Engineering, Operations, Security, and business stakeholders to ensure releases are properly planned, approved, communicated, and executed.

\n

The ideal candidate is a strong organizer and communicator who thrives in fast-paced enterprise environments. While this is not a deeply technical engineering role, candidates must be comfortable operating in complex technology organizations, understanding technical concepts, asking the right questions, and coordinating multiple parties through critical production activities.

\n

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Manage and coordinate application, platform, and production releases across multiple teams and stakeholders
\n
• Partner with engineering teams and Technical Program Managers to understand release content, scope, risks, dependencies, and implementation plans
\n
• Review release readiness, ensuring documentation, approvals, testing, and deployment requirements are completed
\n
• Create and manage change tickets, release documentation, release schedules, and deployment plans
\n
• Coordinate with Operations, Security, Platform Engineering, and other stakeholders to ensure all release requirements are met
\n
• Track and obtain required approvals, including executive-level approvals when necessary
\n
• Serve as the central point of contact during release execution and maintenance windows
\n
• Facilitate release calls, monitor progress, ensure milestones are completed, and proactively address issues in real time
\n
• Verify rollback procedures and contingency plans are documented and available
\n
• Ensure post-deployment validation activities are completed successfully before closing releases
\n
• Drive communication before, during, and after releases to technical and business stakeholders
\n
• Escalate risks, blockers, and issues appropriately to leadership
\n
• Document release outcomes, lessons learned, and process improvement opportunities
\n
• Continuously improve release management processes, governance, and operational efficiency
\n

Required Qualifications

\n

\n
• 5+ years of experience in Release Management, Change Management, Technical Project Management, Program Coordination, or a related function
\n
• Experience supporting software, infrastructure, platform, or enterprise technology releases
\n
• Experience working within large, complex enterprise technology organizations
\n
• Strong project coordination and organizational skills
\n
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and competing priorities
\n
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and driving deliverables to completion
\n
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
\n
• Comfortable working with technical teams and discussing technical concepts
\n
• Experience creating and managing change tickets, release documentation, approvals, and implementation plans
\n
• Proven ability to facilitate meetings, drive decisions, and manage stakeholder expectations
\n
• Strong attention to detail and sense of ownership
\n

Preferred Qualifications

\n

\n
• Experience supporting production releases during evening or overnight maintenance windows
\n
• Background in telecommunications, large-scale technology organizations, or highly regulated enterprise environments
\n
• Familiarity with software development lifecycles, CI/CD processes, and production deployment practices
\n
• Understanding of application architecture, databases, cloud platforms, APIs, and enterprise systems
\n
• Experience coordinating executive-level stakeholders and approvals
\n
• Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, or similar workflow and change management platforms
\n
