Job Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will serve as a key member of the patient care team in an ambulatory setting. This position will work closely with providers across multiple specialties as well as with other clinical and administrative staff to deliver an exceptional patient experience that contributes to positive health outcomes for patients and a work culture in alignment with our values of Service-Oriented, Trust, Empathy, Safety, Inclusion, and Communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with patients, visitors, vendors, and all faculty and staff.
• Prepare patients for their visit including pre-visit organization of information, performing patient escort and rooming functions, and assisting with walking, dressing, and specimen collection.
• Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and department-specific therapies.
• Perform phlebotomy duties and point-of-care tests.
• Prepare and label collected specimens and ensure timely delivery.
• Enter orders in EMR systems and notify physicians and nurses of emergencies.
• Perform additional specialty-specific duties based on clinical operation needs.

Qualifications

• BLS or CPR certification.
• School MA certification OR CCMA/RMA certification.
• Preferred experience with EPIC system and bilingual capabilities.
