Risk ManagerThe Risk Manager identifies and prevents/mitigates potential issues that could compromise resident care, result in financial loss, or damage the reputation of the facility.Detect and manage risk exposureMaintain and update facility policies to reduce or mitigate risk.Improve documentation practices.Seek ways to reduce the legal exposure of the facility.Monitor risk management processes.Create and maintain risk audit databases.Promote a safe work environment.Take the steps needed to prevent data breaches.Investigate any events that have the potential for, or result in death or injuriesIdentify latent failures, such as the use of drugs that can interact with each other.Assure resident safety through strict adherence to protocols, policies, and procedures, open communication with residents, supervisors, and coworkers, and careful observation of residents, equipment, and environmental conditions.Provide nursing care to residents when needed.Perform other duties as assignedKnowledge of risk management concepts.Outstanding organizational skills.Knowledge of statistics and research methodologies.Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to the facility.Ability to deal professionally, courteously, and efficiently with the public and to remain calm under stress.Strong customer service skills.Strong analytical, judgment, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.Good oral and written communications skills.Knowledge of all confidentiality requirements regarding medical clients and strict maintenance of proper confidentiality on all such information.Proficient in Microsoft Office; Ability to work independently.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Stretch, bend, stoop, squat, twist, crouch, kneel, and balance to access all resident body parts,Stand and walk frequently; Sit for extended periods; simple grasp; fine hand manipulation; near vision; hear conversation; speakMinimum RequirementsEducation: AS degree in nursing, or equivalent, is required. BS degree in nursing is desirable.Experience: Experience performing the essential functions of the position is desirable.Certification/License: Florida Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing is required. Candidates are required to attain and maintain CPR certification within 90 days after hire. State background check standards must be maintained as a condition of continued employment in accordance with Florida Statutes Chapters 435 and 408.809 and Florida Administrative Code 59A-35.090.
