Job SummaryUnder the direction of the CEO/Principal and the Director of Operations and Expanded Learning the Building Substitute teaches and supports students in the event that their regular Teacher or instructional aide is unable to lead or support the class. Their duties include managing classroom behavior quickly interpreting lesson plans and creating reports to inform the students permanent Teacher of their Substitute duties and responsibilities:In order to create an encouraging learning environment for students while their regular Teacher or instructional aide will need to effectively manage instruct or support the class from roll call through to tidying up the classroom after the students have left. Some of the Building Substitutes duties and responsibilities include:Follow lesson plans provided by the regular Teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for studentsManage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environmentAdapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each individual studentSupervise students in and out of the classroom including in the halls on the playground and in the cafeteriaProvide in-class and at-home assignments based on the available lesson planPerforms related duties as requiredAssists instructional personnel with the presentation of learning materials and in the conduct of instructional individual students and small groups of students with special learning needs to reinforce and follow-up learning and training and assists students with special learning needs in a variety of instructional activities as a follow-up to the presentation of instructional lessons by instructional and assists in the remediation of specific learning problems and conditions.

Bachelors degree from an accredited institutionValid substitute teaching permit issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC)Valid California Drivers License First-Aid Certificate Required DOJ fingerprint Clearance TB Test
