Instructor, Radiologic Technology (9+3)

Job Responsibilities

Teach and evaluate the didactic and/or clinical skills within various RAD specific courses to a diverse student body using effective teaching strategies; develop, revise, and maintain course materials; recommend/design new programs; maintain office hours; participate in appropriate professional development opportunities; participate in College and community activities, promote the mission of the College; develop/implement retention strategies; assist in graduate placement; attend graduation ceremony; assist with student advising and registration; serve on College committees; promote institutional goals; assist with departmental administrative responsibilities. Teaching may be on any campus, or by distance learning, and may be days, nights, weekends or a combination. TEACHING PERFORMANCE – The ability to present course materials through appropriate instructional strategies to facilitate the learning process. INSTRUCTIONAL DEVELOPMENT – The development, revision, and maintenance of courses and curriculum through course objectives, outlines, and appropriate materials. INSTRUCTIONAL MANAGEMENT – The effective use of required office hours, exhibition of effective classroom management and control, and timely and accurately submitted reports. STUDENT ADVISEMENT – The participation of the faculty member, when applicable, in assisting students in personal and professional development. COLLEGE AND/OR COMMUNITY SERVICES – The participation in College activities and the promotion of the College through public service. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT – The participation of the faculty member in activities designed to develop professional skills so as to maintain and improve proficiency in his/her present position.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Technology/Imaging Sciences. Must hold American Registry of Radiologic Technologist certification and active registration. 3 years of full-time experience in Radiography within the past 5 consecutive years.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in related area. Teaching experience with effective teaching modalities and proficiency in instructional evaluation, curriculum development and student advising within a variety of Radiography and Allied Health areas.

Additional Comments

Will work as a team member within the Radiologic Technology Department and the Health Sciences Division. The instructor is responsible for teaching and evaluating students within both the didactic and clinical RAD courses. Professional, collegial, and ethical conduct, decisions and relationships are expected at all times.
