Event Staff

Event Staff Position for the school year with multiple shifts for Ohio Football and Men’s Basketball games, as well as spring break OHSAA events. This role provides student workers with recurring hours throughout the athletic season. Posting Details Applications will be accepted until midnight (Eastern Time Zone) on the Posting End Date. Responsibilities include collecting payments from customers using parking lots for events and directing vehicles to appropriate parking areas. The position starts with four Saturday shifts at 6 AM and continues during the Football and Men’s Basketball seasons. Pay Rate: $13.50 per hour FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt Job Category: Student Hourly Work Schedule: First shift slots at 6 AM and 12 PM; shift lasts until 6:30 PM. Additional shifts will be announced later, including four Saturday shifts, one Friday, and one Tuesday shift. Job Profile Essential Functions: Assist with planning and organizing university events such as speakers, conferences, or campus gatherings. Coordinate logistics, work with vendors, and manage event details to ensure smooth execution. Level Summary: Performs basic tasks and assists with administrative or operational duties under supervision. Roles are entry‑level, aiming to provide exposure to workplace environments. They may supervise other student workers. Responsibilities Collect payments from customers utilizing parking lots for events. Direct cars to designated parking lots for events. Complete tasks under close supervision and within deadlines. Minimum Qualifications Enrolled in classes at Ohio University, Hocking College, another post‑secondary institution, or a secondary school during the current semester, immediate previous semester, or immediate upcoming semester. Able to follow instructions and complete tasks within deadlines. Basic knowledge of office software and communication tools. Preferred Qualifications None specified. Working Conditions & Physical Demands Primarily outside work; requires standing for extended periods.
