Prep Cook Prep Cook performs routine kitchen tasks, such as setting up workstations and ingredients, so that food can be prepared according to recipes. The role requires quickness, diligence, and a willingness to improve on the job. Skill in following instructions and adherence to all kitchen health and safety rules is essential. Operating in a dynamic and fast-paced environment is a fundamental part of the role. Responsibilities Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan tasks. Label and store all ingredients on shelves for easy organization and access. Measure ingredients and seasonings that will be used in cooking. Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, etc. Perform basic cooking tasks, such as reducing sauces and blanching foods. Prepare simple dishes like salads and appetizers. Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out the trash. Ensure all foods and other items are stored properly. Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines. Perform other kitchen tasks as assigned. Requirements Knowledge of kitchen health and safety rules. Manual dexterity to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils. Good physical condition and endurance. Effective teamwork and communication skills. Positive attitude focused on problem solving and willingness to receive feedback. Adaptability to new processes. Availability to work weekends and holidays. No prior experience required. Knowledge & Skills Food and Beverage Sanitation and Hygiene. Leadership, creativity, proactivity. Mathematical skills, oral and written expression. High organizational sense, visual and auditory acuity. Sense of urgency, tolerance and initiative. Physical & Mental Capacity Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to hold and maneuver trays with food and beverages. Working under pressure and maintaining concentration.
