Organization: Sterile Supply Job Summary: The Sterile Processing Technician works under the supervision of the manager or designee in maintaining, disinfecting, sterilization and processing of surgical instruments and supplies. Key Responsibilities: Maintain a clean, orderly work area while handling various types of equipment, instruments, and supplies used during surgical procedures. Clean, disinfect, and sterilize instrumentation, equipment and supplies for the OR and other areas as needed. Keep accurate quality control records regarding Bowie-Dick Tests, Biologics and individual load records. Ensure adequate inventory of necessary supplies for Sterile Processing department and order as needed. Transport sterile supplies and equipment to other areas of the hospital. Maintain and care for equipment and supplies. Document maintenance and repairs. Maintain department records, reports and files as required. Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs. Consistently provide accurate and complete hand‑off communication to any healthcare provider according to hospital policy. Attend 80% of all department meetings and be required to review and initial all department minutes missed. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Position Qualifications: Certifications: Certified Sterile Processing Technician – The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc. Work Experience: Relevant Work Experience. Experience Level: Less than 1 year. Education: High School Diploma or GED.
