This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience and grow within our geotechnical division. You'll work alongside experienced engineers and technical staff on meaningful projects that shape the built environment.Compensation: $28-33/hour based on experienceLocation: West Valley City, UTFLSA Exemption: ExemptSchedule: Hours may varyWhat you'll be doing:Plan and conduct geotechnical exploration programsPerform field and laboratory investigations to assess subsurface and site conditionsAnalyze geotechnical findings and perform engineering calculationsPrepare geotechnical reports and documentation for review by senior engineersSupport and guide field inspection teams during site activitiesCollaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure timely project completionAssist with evaluating team performance and identifying training needsPerform general office administrative tasks as neededWhat you have:Bachelor of Science in Geotechnical, Civil, or Geological Engineering (or related field)0–2 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering (Utah preferred)Proficiency in soil mechanics and geotechnical analysisAbility to solve engineering challenges with creativity and critical thinkingStrong written and verbal communication skillsTeam-oriented mindset and professional attitudeWhat will make you stand out:Internship or co-op experience in geotechnical engineeringFamiliarity with field logging, lab testing, or foundation designDemonstrated leadership or mentorship potentialPassion for geotechnical problem-solving and innovationPreferred Certification(s):OSHA 10 or 30-Hour Construction Safety (preferred, not required)CMT Technical Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
