Project Supervisor The Project Supervisor has supervisory responsibility for multiple crews and managerial responsibility for the projects completed by the crews. The Project Supervisor must ensure that the crews are completing the project as per the specification, on time, and within the budget. Customer satisfaction is among the highest priorities and is achieved through the safe delivery of a quality roof and good communication. A key role for the Project Supervisor is the development of crew members as world‑class roofers. The Project Supervisor’s duties may include, but are not limited to: Working with the Foremen’s and crew’s (installation of a quality roof) in a safe and timely manner, while maintaining job profitability. Continually develop and train the crew members. Discipline the crew members when necessary. Maintain good customer relations, acting as a liaison between the management and the customer. Making sure Foreman is recording work performed using daily reports and report crew time accurately. Review requisitions to determine materials needed and work with the shop to make sure all materials get to the jobsite; discuss and revise delivery schedules when needed. Communicate and work with Project Managers. Attend pre‑construction meetings. Determine job‑specific safety guidelines / procedures in accordance with Academy Roofing & Sheet Metal Co requirements. Work with Safety Director to perform job hazard analysis. Monitor jobsite inventory, assess short falls, and order additional materials in a timely manner. Maintain company‑assigned vehicle and other resources required for roof installation and safety. Requirements / Qualifications Roofing field experience is required. High school education or GED is required. Current, valid driver’s license is required. Pre‑employment drug and job assessment screens are required. Knowledge of project and personnel administration, and able to read and understand written scopes of work and shop drawings. Completion of the Academy Roofing & Sheet Metal Co Safety Orientation mandatory. Obtain an OSHA 10 and 30‑hour certification from Academy Roofing & Sheet Metal Co training; meets OSHA’s Competent Person requirements. Ability to obtain and maintain site‑specific screening and contractor training certifications. Good reading, writing, and verbal communication and listening skills required. Must be able to speak and or respond to directives given in the English language. Must possess the ability to supervise personnel while managing the outcome of their efforts. Ability to prioritize events leading to project completion, and determine what must be done to achieve the best possible outcome for the company, customer, and team necessary. Must be capable of the strenuous activity required to tear off, carry, and dispose of roofing material. The work schedule is varied sometimes beginning work very early and working until late in the day. Working at night or on weekends may be necessary. This position requires being “on‑call”. Job requires extensive bending, climbing, lifting, kneeling, pulling, pushing, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time. Most tasks will take place on the roof and will require exposure to the cold, heat, rain, sun, wind, and various heights. Must be able to climb up a 60‑foot ladder safely with three‑point contact; must be able to lift up to 90 pounds and push up to 200 pounds. Job Summary At Academy Roofing & Sheet Metal Co, a Roof Technician is involved in all aspects of the roofing trade, from tear‑off to repair and maintenance. Primary roofing systems installed include TPO, PVC, EPDM, SBS modified bitumen, and standing seam metal. A roof technician installs roof‑related sheet metal including gutters and downspouts, gravel stop, drip edge, gable trim, and copings. The Roof Technician’s duties may include, but are not limited to: Remove and install commercial roofing systems in a safe and efficient manner. Ensure that the project is completed according to Academy Roofing & Sheet Metal Co policies under the direction of the Project Foreman. Make sure that all work is completed as per code and as per customer requirements. Keep the work area safe and maintain it with good housekeeping practices. Attend regular meetings to discuss the weekly schedule and stress the importance of jobsite safety. Requirements / Qualifications Roofing field experience, formal education, or a combination of these desired. High school education or GED required. Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and other job‑related responsibilities; OSHA 10‑Hour certification a plus. Current, valid driver’s license is required.
