Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Float Pool RN – Ohio

Start Date: December 14, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week (three 12-hour shifts). Weekend shifts assigned according to staffing needs. 3:1 patient ratio. Orientation includes 36 hours of training.

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Float Pool position supporting step-down level patients with various diagnoses
• Float assignment may include alternate affiliated facility locations (approximately 5-6 minute walk, no commute required)
• Epic charting system utilized across all units
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and physical therapy
• First-time travelers welcome; candidates with only one year of experience will undergo manager review
• Minimum one-year nursing experience required; previous charge experience preferred

• Active RN license (valid Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum one year of RN experience
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Required skills: IV insertion/management, cardiac telemetry interpretation
• Epic EMR experience required
• Education from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required
• Two professional references required: at least one from manager/director or formal leadership; charge nurse acceptable as second reference
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing

• Cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Administration and monitoring of blood products
• Management of cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration); titration of insulin drips
• Central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care/management
• Arterial line management and ABG interpretation
• BiPAP/CPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) management
• Tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and wound care/wound vac
• Heparin and IV insulin protocol management
• Pre/post hemodialysis and neurosurgery care
• Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Feeding tube care, phlebotomy, and IV starts
