Registered Nurse (RN) | Long Term Care

Location: Avera Majestic Bluffs / Avera Sister James Care Center Worker Type: Regular Work Shift: Day Shift (United States of America) Pay Range: $32.50 - $48.50 (Actual pay rate dependent upon experience) Position Highlights Hours: 6:00 am – 6:30 pm; every 3rd weekend/hol; 72 hours per 2 weeks May be eligible for a $30,000 sign‑on bonus with a 3-year commitment Student Loan Repayment Program – up to $10,000 over time, with $167 monthly payment from Avera Brief Overview Delivers nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis, establishing care objectives, defining interventions, and providing comprehensive support to residents, families, and friends. Responsibilities Provide resident care by reviewing physician prescriptions and communicating the nursing care plan to the healthcare team Coordinate with other healthcare providers and provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to residents, families, and friends Develop and maintain nursing care plans, including obtaining medical histories, conducting examinations, and documenting physical, psychological, and social status Educate residents, families, and friends about conditions, medications, and self‑care skills Evaluate resident care against therapeutic standards and adjust care plans as needed Maintain a safe and healthy environment by adhering to infection‑control policies, medication administration procedures, and controlled‑substance regulations Ensure resident care equipment operates properly and maintain supplies Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers and direct nursing assistants or other staff Maintain competence in nursing capabilities as outlined by leadership Essential Qualifications The individual must be able to work the specified hours and perform each essential job function satisfactorily, which includes: Visual acuity adequate for job duties Effective communication, listening, and speech understanding Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience Registered Nurse (RN) – Board of Nursing Active license in the state of practice Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience 1–3 years of experience working in a clinical or long‑term care environment Expectations and Standards Commit to the daily application of Avera’s mission, vision, core values, and social principles Promote Avera’s values of compassion, hospitality, and stewardship Uphold standards of communication, attitude, responsiveness, and engagement (CARE) Maintain confidentiality and work effectively within the team Comply with safety principles, laws, regulations, and standards (CMS, Joint Commission, DHHS, OSHA, etc.) Benefits PTO available from day 1 for eligible hires Up to 5% employer matching contribution for retirement Career development through hands‑on training and mentorship Equal Opportunity Employer Avera is an Equal Opportunity Employer – Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, Veteran Status, or other protected categories.
