5+ years application development and implementation experience. RHEL 5/6 knowledge/experience is required for this position. Shell scripting experience with the ability to simultaneously handle multiple support activities is required. The candidate should have prior experience utilizing packaging environments and tools. The ideal candidate will also be proficient in all/many of the following areas: bash, ksh, Python, CVS, Subversion, RPM, YUM, Red Hat Satellite, and VMware. Equivalent experience in comparable areas will be considered. Responsibilities will include software packaging and distribution of developed software packages to test and production systems. Candidate needs to be flexible to include some production support as required. Candidate will be providing focused support to a subset of the department's development activities. Experience with system startup, Operating System interaction, boot options, and parameters on Client DL380 G6/G7/Gen8 class server hardware is a plus. Clear communication skills with the ability to document and track details is required. The ability to appropriately escalate and refer tickets to additional support personnel is also necessary.
