Instrument Maintenance Technician Location: Wickliffe, OH, 44092-2298 Shift: 1st Shift Job Type: Full‑time / On‑site How You’ll Make An Impact As an Instrument Maintenance Craftsperson, you’ll be at the forefront of keeping operations running safely and reliably by providing first‑line support to site instrumentation and controls. You’ll maintain high standards of safety, product quality, and operational excellence while working with a diverse and collaborative team. The Instrument Technician will provide first‑line support for operations and site equipment, including power supply and pneumatic instruments such as meters, monitors, transmitters, flowmeters, level devices, switches, alarms, PLCs, transducers, regulators, control valves, automatic valves, actuators, and solenoid valves. Duties also include calibration, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of all instrumentation and related equipment, including ISO equipment, and proper calibration documentation. In This Role, You Will Review job packages to ensure work can be executed safely and per specifications. Obtain work permits and conduct required walkdowns with Operations. Follow job plans and maintenance work processes to complete assignments. Install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain site instrumentation and pneumatic/electrical devices. Perform calibration, testing, adjustments, and documentation for instrumentation and ISO equipment. Conduct loop checks, identify operational variances, and update drawings as needed. Analyze root causes of issues and provide feedback to improve job plans and reliability. Complete all required documentation including digital work orders, calibration records, and SAP entries. Operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and utility carts. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Required Qualifications That Enable Your Success High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in installation, calibration, and troubleshooting of instrumentation. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics. Strong organizational, math, and computer skills. Effective written, verbal, and listening communication skills. Preferred Qualifications That Drive You Forward Experience working in a chemical plant. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP (S/4 HANA). Vocational/technical certificates relevant to instrumentation. Associate degree or higher in an instrumentation‑related field. Your Work Environment This role involves working in a plant environment, including exposure to inclement weather, confined spaces, heights, noise, and chemical odors. You may be required to work overtime, holidays, and participate in a rotational call‑in schedule. Physical activities include climbing ladders and stairways, prolonged standing/walking, and lifting up to 100 pounds. Use of required PPE, including hearing protection and respirators (clean‑shaven policy applies), is mandatory.
