Endoscopy Tech - GI Lab Tech

Surgical Technician Endoscopy

Schedule: 4-10 hour shifts per week with rotating call

Assignment Details:

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 40

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
• Registered with DORA as a Surgical Technologist in the state required
• Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) Associates Program and/or Advanced Associates Program required
• Current IAHCSMM Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) Certification required
• 2 years of Endoscopic experience required
• Advanced Case Endo experience required

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Assist nursing staff and physicians during procedures by efficiently managing equipment related to endoscopic needs
• Disinfect and process endoscopic equipment, assisting with troubleshooting as required
• Set up rooms for procedures and transport patients as needed
• Stock rooms with necessary supplies and equipment
• Assist patients with dressing and ambulation as directed by nursing staff
• Apply EKG monitors, BP cuffs, and pulse oximetry prior to the start of cases
