About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Active state or compact state nursing license Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Must have CVICU experience at a Level 1 facility. EPIC charting experience required. Invasive hemodynamic monitoring skills. Ability to recover post-operative cardiac surgery patients. Experience with CRRT and IABP. Level I trauma experience preferred. Description: This position is in a cardiac surgery intensive care unit. Nursing assignments include managing 1-2 patients with a variety of cardiac conditions and post-operative care. Diagnoses include CABGs, valve repairs/replacements, aortic surgeries, VADs, total artificial hearts, and heart/liver/kidney transplants. The unit offers oversight for circulatory assist devices, including various types of LVADs and ECMO. Daily patient census averages around 13 with a maximum of 14 beds in the unit. Interdisciplinary support is available from various specialized teams including IV, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more. Candidates must be flexible and willing to float within scope if needed. Previous charge experience is a plus. Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Care must be provided to adult and geriatric patients. This position requires strong critical care skills and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a challenging environment.
