The Biomedical Technician III, Clinical Engineering role supports the Clinical Engineering department at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center by ensuring the safe, accurate, and reliable operation of medical, surgical, and research equipment across the institution. The Biomedical Technician III, Clinical Engineering works under limited supervision to provide advanced technical maintenance, troubleshooting, and support for complex biomedical systems critical to patient care and research. As part of this mission, the Biomedical Technician III, Clinical Engineering plays a vital role in sustaining clinical operations by maintaining compliance with manufacturer specifications, supporting clinical staff, and contributing to equipment lifecycle management at UT MD Anderson. The ideal candidate for the Biomedical Technician III, Clinical Engineering role brings a strong background in biomedical or electronic engineering technology, hands-on experience supporting medical devices in a healthcare environment, and the ability to work collaboratively with clinical teams and vendors. Preferred candidates demonstrate experience in medical device life cycle management, asset reliability, customer service, and operational coordination, along with strong communication skills and a commitment to patient safety. Minimum $39.66 - Midpoint $49.52 - Maximum $59.38 per hour based on a 40-hour work week.

• Receive, assemble, and inspect new equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance
• Troubleshoot, inspect, repair, and modify electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment
• Communicate with clinical clients to diagnose and resolve equipment issues
• Ensure equipment compliance with manufacturer specifications and institutional standards
• Conduct and document performance assurance testing, analyze results, and determine equipment safety and accuracy
• Provide in-service training to nursing and clinical staff on equipment operation and troubleshooting
• Coordinate equipment repairs with external vendors and internal clients as required
• Document all equipment modifications and maintenance in accordance with standard operating procedures
• Assist with service contracts, pre-purchase evaluations, incident investigations, and project management activities
• Perform other duties as assigned EDUCATION

- Required: Associate's Degree Biomedical Technology (BMET) or Electronic Engineering.
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree Biomedical Technology (BMET) or Electronic Engineering.
- Required: 4 years Biomedical Technology experience. or
- Required: 2 years Experience required with preferred degree.
- May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
- Preferred: Experience in medical device life cycle management, specialized medical device support - maintenance and support for Beds, Stretchers, Dialysis, and equipment within SPD (Sterile Processing Department) environment, asset reliability, customer service, and operation coordination skills.
