Project Specialist I

Job Title Project Specialist I – Agency, Texas A&M AgriLife Research Department – Horticultural SciencesLocation: College Station, TexasType: Staff Responsibilities Assist in planning and conducting outreach programs, workshops, conferences, and symposia related to the Plants, Nature, and Health Initiative (PNHI). Develop promotional materials, manage correspondence with speakers, facilities representatives, and vendors. Retrieve and analyze data from government databases and health/green industry sites; create pivot tables, industry trend reports, infographics, and PowerPoint presentations; manage an online dashboard of economic and health metrics. Create surveys in Qualtrics (or similar), debug data, export for analysis, and aid in report generation. Edit and upload videos to YouTube and Vimeo; use AI tools for drafting reports, grants, and correspondence. Collaborate with audio‑visual and marketing staff to develop, update, and maintain websites; monitor website performance and record usage metrics. Develop a website for the new Plants, Nature, and Health Initiative and devise a maintenance plan. Set up, record, and monitor online meetings via Teams or Zoom; use online calendaring tools to schedule meetings and generate AI transcripts for notes and action plans. Develop, edit, and distribute informational e‑newsletters for advisory committees, internal faculty, and external clients. Perform regular administrative support for project/program administrators, exercising independent judgment. Liaise between chairholder, advisory committee, department head, business office, and other constituencies concerning PNHI actions. Arrange logistical support for meetings, seminars, and distinguished lecturers, including travel, accommodation, agendas, and financial reports. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree (equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered). Strong project‑management skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, statistics, graphing), PowerPoint, Word, and medium‑level desktop publishing. Proficiency in online meeting platforms (Teams, Zoom) and calendaring tools (e.g., Doodle). Ability to plan, organize, and lead both in‑person and online meetings. Multi‑tasking ability and cooperative teamwork. Preferred Qualifications Experience in public health and/or plant/nature‐benefits research. Experience in project management. Proficiency in video and photo editing. Proficiency in website management software (e.g., WordPress). Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat PDF form creation, file editing, and e‑signature tools. Familiarity with data‑management and survey tools (Qualtrics). Familiarity with Interfolio, Maestro, and travel‑management software. Familiarity with AI tools (ChatGPT, Fathom, etc.).
