Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a float pool position requiring NC or compact RN licensure and readiness to float across multiple critical care units.

Details

• Inpatient Float Pool position floating to all ICU units as needed, including Surgical, Neuro, Medicine, Cardiac, Cardiovascular, and Burn ICUs
• May also float to stepdown units as needed
• Patient ratios generally 1:1 to a max of 1:3 in ICU, and 1:3 in stepdown
• Night shift schedule, 7:00pm - 7:00am
• 36 hours per week, 3 shifts of 12 hours
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Every other holiday (EOH) required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Block weekend scheduling available

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required
• BSN or MSN preferred

Additional Information

• Provides direct clinical nursing care to critically ill patients across multiple ICU specialties
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to develop and evaluate patient care plans
• Performs bedside point-of-care testing as required
• Educates patients and families and assesses learning needs and readiness
• Assesses and prioritizes complex patient care needs including discharge planning
• Promotes a safe, clean, and cost-effective care environment
• Participates in unit performance improvement activities
