We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join our small mobile team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality care to our animal patients in the comfort of their own homes. You will work alongside veterinarians and other team members to ensure the health and well-being of pets in the Twin Cities. Your expertise in animal handling, restraint, and care will be essential in delivering exceptional veterinary services. Our slower paced enviroment allows for maxium time to bond with and provide care for pets and their owners. We do not perform surgery, anesthesia, or imaging such as radiographs or ultrasound. We are passionate about low stress handling and fear free practices with our patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations.
- Venipuncture and IV catheter placement
- Preparing blood, urine, and fecal samples for send out to our labs.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
- Provide proper low stress animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff.
- Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and training techniques.
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients.
- Ensuring cleanliness and organization within the administrative office
- You may be asked to assist in inventory management and counting.
- You may be asked to drive work vehicles to and from appointments.
Qualifications
- Skilled venipuncture skills strongly preferred
- Proven experience in animal handling and behavior
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
- Licensure as a Veterinary Technician is preferred but not mandatory; relevant experience will be considered.
- A genuine passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing excellent patient care.
