Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical unit position requiring a PA or compact license and Cerner charting experience.

Details

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital setting
• MS/Tele patient population with cardiac monitoring and emergency response needs
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:00) with occasional nights
• Every other weekend (EOW) required

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA or Compact) currently in hand
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience required
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Skilled in non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and use of oxygen tanks and nasal cannula
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
• One supervisory reference from within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide care to Medical Surgical/Telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Utilize Rapid Response/Code teams as needed
• Must complete PA fingerprinting and ChildLine registration within 48 hours of signing a contract
• Fingerprinting must be completed in PA, with very limited exceptions in other states
• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of signing a contract
• Previous permanent employment with the facility must be disclosed, and prior perm or per diem staff must have been away for 18 months before returning as travelers
