This role is ideal for a hands-on machinist experienced in setups, precision machining, and maintaining high-quality standards in a fast-paced production environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform machine setups using: Hard jawsSoft jawsAngle platesOther appropriate holding and clamping techniquesDemonstrate efficient machining practices to achieve: Optimal surface finishReduced cycle timesMinimal setup timeSelect proper speeds, feeds, and tooling for each jobInterpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings, including tolerance requirementsAccurately measure and inspect parts using: MicrometersCalipersHeight gaugesGo/No-Go gaugesMaintain production timelines while ensuring top-quality standardsKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)Apply correct machining practices to maximize efficiency and part qualityComplete setups within expected timeframes: Simple setups: 15–40 minutes (dependent on prior job setup)Understand tolerance requirements and adjust processes accordinglyQualificationsExperience operating CNC Lathe and/or CNC Mill (both preferred)Ability to operate manual mill and lathe is highly desirableStrong understanding of: Blueprint readingTolerances and precision machiningProficient with measuring tools and inspection processesSolid basic math skills, including: Fractions and decimalsAbility to convert between bothAbility to work independently and stay organized while meeting deadlinesIdeal CandidateDetail-oriented with a commitment to qualityStrong problem-solving and setup optimization skillsExperienced in both manual and CNC machining environmentsDependable and able to consistently meet production goalsWhy Work with Express?Weekly payDedicated staffing supportOpportunity for long-term placement with a respected local companyApply today with Express Employment Professionals and take the next step in your machining career!
