Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 Year Minimum License: Compact license required Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: High-risk experience; Ability to work in fast-paced, high-acuity environments Description: Locals are considered at the same rate. Permanent candidates from other facilities are eligible for a travel contract if separated for at least 3 months. All facilities honor an active compact license. Must have high-risk experience. First-timers are accepted. Pre-approved time off will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Work every other weekend and holidays as needed. Float required: Postpartum / Antepartum. May float to sister facilities that provide Mother/Baby care. Average daily census is 15 patients. Expected to handle 500-600 deliveries per month. Staffing follows established guidelines. In the role of Baby Nurse during deliveries, the nurse continues care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum. Candidates must circulate and provide newborn care, including eye care and vitamin K injections, as well as perform newborn assessments. Patient diagnoses range from midwifery clients to private OBs and adult recovery services. Experience with electronic fetal monitoring is valued. Candidates must possess skills in managing high-risk antepartum cases and assist with various deliveries. Previous charge experience is preferred. Candidates must commit to working a specified number of holidays. References covering experience within the last 3 years are required during the compliance process. Travelers may float between facilities when necessary. Inflexibility beyond contracted schedules may lead to termination of the assignment. Communication devices needed for the assignment will be provided without cost to the provider. No direct contact with facility personnel unless for scheduled interviews.
