About the Position

Travelers can expect to stay at the facility during emergency events. Specific pay details will be communicated during each emergency. Do not apply if you are uncomfortable with emergency event expectations. First-time travelers are welcome. Unit has a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio. Hematology, Medical Oncology, and Bone Marrow Transplant experience is part of the patient population. Seven beds are designated for a positive pressure wing for specific patients. Responsibilities include bedside CVC placements and bone marrow biopsies. Equipment used includes Alaris IV pumps and barcode medication administration systems. Required skills include administering chemotherapy and managing ports. Caring for feeding tubes and understanding dysrhythmias is necessary. Knowledge of isolation precautions and PCA management is essential. Telemetry monitoring and IV management experience is expected. Interdisciplinary support includes various therapy and service teams. Patient diagnoses primarily include cancer-related conditions. Experience in surgical oncology is preferred. There is a weekend coverage requirement every other weekend. Pre-approved time off must be discussed during the interview. Ensure references include manager or supervisor contacts, as these will be required before starting. Candidates should be prepared for specific certifications that may be required before the start date. Submissions must be accompanied by up-to-date documentation. Experience as a charge nurse is not accepted.
